Huge food market in Taipei Brigde

Today I decided to move to a new hostel closer to the city centre of Taipei. This would make it more convenient to move around in Taipei. But before moving down to the city centre I wanted to explore more of the area I was staying at, which is called Taipei Bridge. I recalled to see a lot of food stalls around this area in the evening when I first arrived in Taipei and wondered how it was during ...

Amazing vegetarian food in Taipei

Today was my first real day in Taipei and my goal for the day was to wander to the city centre and find an USB-based battery-charger for my camera. I've heard that there was a city quarter that had a lot of camera shops. This quest of finding an USB-based charger has been quite long or actually ever since I bought my quite expensive Sony full frame camera in Thailand. My worry was that charging directly to the camera ...

My first impressions of Taiwan

So after six months of travelling in  Southeast Asia I was now heading to the new region of East Asia. My journey to the region started off at Taipei, Taiwan. Taiwan was a country that I wanted to visit because of it's history that I learned way back in my high school years. Considering the politics and tensions in the region I also believe Taiwan is an important country  to understand and learn more about. Arriving in Taipei was ...

My first crisis during travel in Asia

So it was bound to happen! For the very first time I actually experienced a "crisis" during my travel in Asia. It happened when I lost my wallet when wandering around Coron to explore more for the city. Inside my wallet I had 900 pesos and my credit card. Losing those wasn't actually a big issue, because 900 pesos wasn't that much money and I was able to cancel the credit card right after I found out that I've ...

Climbing to Mount Tapyas in Coron

Today was my last full day in Coron before heading back to Puerto Princessa then Cebu. Instead of doing more sea or island activities I wanted to explore more of  Coron town itself and what better than to climb to the highest viewpoint in Coron? The climb to the highest viewpoint, which also called Mount Tapyas, felt quite long and exhausting, but I think the latter one was mostly due to the immense heat during the noon. When I ...

Coron has one of the best Island hopping tours in Southeast Asia

Similar to the Island hopping tour in El Nido, the tour in Coron was superb. The water was clean and crystal clear, and I don't think I've seen such turkish water before. The coral reef was also amazing with plenty of fish and life. In the last stop I got to swim pretty close to a sea turtle, which was an incredible experience! For dinner I went to this local restaurant and ate the biggest bowl of noodle ever! ...
